These are used by noise control customers in the industrial, commercial and architectural settings to improve sound quality by scattering sound waves, reducing echoes and reverberations and creating a more natural and even listening environment. Knowing that some of our customers utilize both wood and plastic products, Rick Wurm, VP Operations, was eager to explore a crossover of WDS thermoformed plastic product lines into the sound diffuser market. Today, several acoustic control partners turn to WDS as a single source for their CNC routed wood and thermoformed plastic contract manufacturing needs.

Founded as a construction company and lumber yard 70 years ago, the company has transformed itself into a fabricator of a variety of component-driven OEM projects.
This featured product is a thermoformed plastic hard shell used for reducing the risk of head injury for special needs people. This customer required an item with a strong shell. Polyethylene was chosen. The holes that are CNC routed serve two purposes 1) weight reduction 2) ventilation. After this item leaves WDS, a shock absorbent foam liner and adjustable chin strap is added.
