On Tuesday, May 26, 2009, the
employees of Wurm’s Woodworking Co. had the opportunity to experience their
HARD WORK and direct EFFORT as showcased by their parts installed in this 2010
International LoneStar truck. This vehicle was supplied with the generosity
of Norwalk Truck
Over the past year, Wurm’s
Woodworking has worked closely with International and a tier 1 interior trim
supplier. This International Truck
contract went thru various stages of design prior to developing production
tooling which consists of aluminum cast molds, trim fixtures for the automated
CNC process and check fixtures required to meet the quality standards of these
parts. The Company is grateful for the
extraordinary support of its employees in servicing
this contract.
Wurm’s Woodworking has supplied original
equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the heavy truck industry since the early
1960s when founders, John and Millie Wurm, would make deliveries using the
trunk of the family car. In addition to
feeding parts to International, the company also supplies parts for Volvo, Mack
and Peterbilt trucks.
Established in 1947, the Company is a
precision fabricator of cut-to-size component products from engineered,
composite and plywood panels as well as high pressure laminates and polymer
sheet materials. The Company also
utilizes foil membrane press technology creating 3D profiles normally requiring
separate edge molding treatment. The Company’s origins in plastic began
in 1980s when many of its current wood based customers began to switch or also
utilize plastic components. Its plastics
division vacuum forms(thermoforms) plastic and vinyl products for various
industries, including seating, recreational transport and point of purchase /
retail display markets. Information
about the Company and its products is available on the internet at www.wurmsproducts.com
